A SHORT
introduction

Based in the Lake District, North Wales, or South Wales, this course introduces participants to the fundamentals of outdoor climbing across some of the UK’s most iconic locations. With an instructor-to-participant ratio of 1:2, expert guidance covers belaying, rope work, movement techniques, and equipment handling, with routes tailored to each participant’s ability - from complete beginners to those progressing through basic grades.

 

Climbing sessions focus on safety, technical progression, and building confidence on rock, ensuring a supportive environment for learning. Between climbs, evenings can be spent exploring local villages, enjoying scenic walks, or taking part in optional activities such as canoeing, paddle boarding, or other outdoor adventures.

 

Routes and schedules are adapted to local weather conditions to make the most of each day. By the end of the course, participants will have developed essential climbing skills and practical experience on UK crags, preparing them for future challenges at their chosen grade.
