This eleven-day journey is a demanding winter expedition across the Hardangervidda plateau, following one of Norway’s classic ski routes and
finishing at Vemork, site of the Heavy Water Plant sabotage. Designed with military groups, uniformed services, and adventurous students in mind, the expedition requires no prior skiing experience - only fitness, resilience, and a willingness to take on a historical challenge in a harsh but beautiful environment.
The programme begins in Bykle with equipment issue and two days of intensive ski and emergency skills training, covering the same survival techniques taught on the Heroes of Telemark course. From there, the expedition moves north to Dyranut and continues southeast towards Vemork, travelling hut to hut each day. Distances gradually increase, building endurance as the group covers more than 100 km across the plateau, visiting historic sites such as the Hellberg Hut along the way. The expedition culminates at Vemork with a crossing of the gorge once guarded by German forces, followed by a visit to the museum that preserves the story of the sabotage. This is more than a ski tour - it is an immersion in endurance, survival, and history, offering participants the chance to prove themselves on a route walked by legends.
